July 4th Parade Kenilworth Neighborhood

I want to say thanks to everyone who was able to make it out this past Saturday for our Pack hike! I had a great time with everyone at Tunica Hills/Clark Creek! I hope you all had as much fun as I did :-) The weather was nice (especially considering the 100 degree heat this week!) and there were no casualties that I know of!

Next Tuesday, July 3rd, will be our 2nd Pack summer activity towards the "Summer Activity Pin". It is the July 4th Parade in Kenilworth. Instead of meeting the evening before to decorate the float, we are asking all scouts those participating to make a poster at your home and bring it the day of the parade. We will staple the posters on the float to decorate it when we arrive.

The theme of this years parade is Girl Scouts 100 years of scouting. The idea we discussed is to make a poster showing things that both girl scouts (parade theme) and boy scouts (us!) do, like camping, hiking, community service, etc. or something patriotic (since it is July 4th!). Let the boys be creative!

The parade will start at 6:30 pm. We are asking everyone to meet at the Kenilworth Science and Tech School (old Kenilworth Middle) by 4:30pm on July 3rd. This will allow enough time to decorate the float and load up. Please bring throws (i.e. reused mardi gras beads, stuffed animals, footballs, etc.) Don't feel like you need to purchase anything to throw unless you want to, I've always saved my Mardi Gras stuff and had plenty with that! The parade usually last no more than 1 hour tops!

Also, we have tentatively scheduled our summer swim party for August 10th. I will send out more information on this once the date is confirmed.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email.
